Kalista Breda medical expenses

Thirteen year old Kalista will be having brain surgery after a 2.3cm tumor was found in the center of her brain. Once a biopsy is done on the mass to determine if it is cancerous or not they will be able to plan a course of treatment. Aside from whether it is benign or not, a major concern is the risk of it growing and pressing on parts of her brain. Radiation will most likely be necessary as it is located in a spot that would make removal difficult. Treatment cannot begin until at least 2 weeks after the biopsy is done in order to allow the surgical site to heal, so this is just the beginning of a very long journey.

I know there are many of us that want to be a help to Kalista’s and her family but aren’t sure what we could possibly do in such a terrifying situation. While they would never ever ask, it would be a tremendous help to relieve some of their financial burden as they focus on helping Kalista get the best care possible. Her mom will be out of work, and they are suddenly faced with many unexpected expenses and ever rising medical bills right before the holidays.
