POSTPONED DUE TO ILLNESS Kalia’s Community Birthday Kirtan
Donation protected
IMPORTANT UPDATE — POSTPONED
I am COVID positive and although I have isolated, I’m still testing positive and am fatigued. In thinking through this, I couldn’t risk getting anyone sick and I needed to let the musicians, venue, and cake baker all know our final decision at this point.
I’m so sad, but I am open to believing that a later date will come with unexpected blessings. I will regroup after the holidays and post an update.
Please, PLEASE know that I can refund anyone who would like a refund. My intention is to use these generous, loving donations for a later Kirtan. So you are all welcome to that event as well.
It would be SO HELPFUL if anyone who sees this can respond in the FB event or confirm via email. I will be sending communications to everyone who has donated or RSVP’d. So having acknowledgment proactively will be so helpful and allow me to rest.
My last birthday Kirtan was just before COVID shut down the world. Now it is shutting down this event. I want to believe that a hard chapter is closing and our new date (likely in spring) will be the harbinger of a beautiful new chapter for us all.
I am blessed by your friendship and love ❤️
Gratefully,
Kalia
Original Description:
Beloveds …
My birthday wish is to elevate community over capitalism, shared experience over consumption, and sacred presence over harried holidays.
As we did for an unforgettable night in 2019, I’d love to offer a mutual gift to us all to celebrate my birthday with an evening of sacred chant. “Kirtan” is an interactive night of singing meditation.
I’m incredibly honored that some of the most renowned musicians in the U.S. kirtan community have agreed to travel to CT and play for us on the evening of December 20th. If you have been to a Yoga class with music in the background, you have likely heard recordings that feature them.
One of my favorite recording artists has agreed to share her music and sing us into a beautiful state of peace. Carrie Grossman is a world traveler, spiritual seeker, contemplative musician, Kripalu facilitator who makes this devotional, meditative, musical experience accessible to all.
So please consider helping me raise $1800 in this GoFundMe campaign to pay for the musicians, their travel, and the space rental so this experience can be free to all I would be so honored even by your $5, $10, $20 donation.
Thank you for reading to this point. Thank you for being in my life. Consider joining me on the 20th. Location details to follow
