Kaley's Rotation in Swaziland

Donation protected
In April 2017, I have the opportunity to travel to the African country Swaziland as part of the University of Dayton Physician Assistant Program.   This experience signifies a unique chance to gain a broader world perspective while expanding my medical skills as a student, and I hope you’ll help support me in my endeavors!

Swaziland is located in between South Africa and Mozambique and is roughly the size of the state of New Jersey. Within its borders, it has the highest adult prevalence for HIV/AIDS and one of the highest rates of tuberculosis in the world. During my four week stay there, I will be assisting the Swazi community by working in the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial Hospital in the city of Manzini and reaching out to smaller villages with travelling clinics.  Any money raised will help cover airline expenses and food during my stay.

To me, this trip is so much more than a clinical rotation.  My interest in medicine began on a similar trip to Ecuador in 2009, and since then I have developed a real passion for international medicine.  I will be thankful for any donations possible and any prayers people are willing to give!
