Support Kalei's road to Rio

My goal has always been to fulfill an Olympic Dream. Tons of hours go into my training on and off the water weekly. Although 2016 Rio Olympics is in August, I plan to travel to a bunch of flat water kayaking training camps internationally, to push my physic and levels at a competitive state all the time and to race against international competition, which will help me get more comfortable with constant racing. It is hard to train here at home, because there are only limited amount of people at the level I want to be at who I can train with and also because there is no races at all in this Olympic sport here in Hawaii.

These funds that I am trying to raise will go towards every little bit of airfares, logistic expenses, meals, boat rentals, supplements, and any equipment I will need to keep me at my most prime performance everyday. Every little bit of financial support, helps me out so much. So I'd like to say mahalo nui for taking the time to read my goal in life and for supporting a local hawaiian man like me.

My plan is to make the USA Olympic team in April of 2016 at the U.S. Flat water Sprint kayaking trials in Oklahoma City's kayak training center. Then compete at the Pan American Games in May, which will be held at the same kayak venue as the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. This event is an Olympic qualifier. Therefore, it is very important to peak perfectly for this event to qualify a spot for the U.S.A. To compete in the 2016Rio Olympics.

Training overseas with top elite is the only way to push my limits as much as possible, to help keep me focused, and to get the correct training for my own body. Training hard is very important, but training smart is where you can divide the professionals from the rest of the field. Therefore it is only obvious for me, that if I want to compete in the Rio Olympics, I need to do and go where the best in world train.

I hope to inspires the youth of Hawaii and make every one of you who believe and support me, proud. I believe in what I do and who I am. Kulia I ka nu'u. (Strive for the top)
I am blessed with a talent that God has given to me and I will take it to the highest level I can.

Thank you all very much for taking the time to read my Gofundme story. Follow me along the way to Rio on this gofundme page and please, support for this local Bradah.

Aloha,

Kalei Kahoʻokele.
