Kaleigh's Urgent Medical Journey

A sudden hospital visit changed our lives overnight. Now, I’m fighting to heal while my husband has taken leave from work to care for me and our three young children—and through it all, we are trusting God every step of the way.

My Story

On August 3rd, I went to the hospital thinking I had a simple respiratory infection. Instead, I was told I had two life-threatening blood clots in my right lung, inflammation in my left lung, and elevated heart enzymes from the stress my body was under.

While in the hospital, my right hand began to go numb and painfully tingle — like it had “fallen asleep.” Within six days, that numbness spread to my entire right side.

I am now home on bed rest, but the road ahead is long and uncertain. The numbness has even started to appear slightly on my left side, and I’m praying it doesn’t progress further. Doctors still don’t know the cause, so my next step is to see a neurologist. Unfortunately, many are booked out 3–6 months, and without insurance or a primary care doctor, the process is painfully slow.

When I leave the house, I must use a wheelchair because I can’t put much weight on my right side. I now rely on my husband for nearly everything — and he’s taken a leave from work to care for me and our three children (ages 10, 7, and 5).

The Financial Strain

I am currently uninsured, but the Lord has answered a long-awaited prayer—starting September 1, I’ll finally have coverage. Until then, the medical bills keep coming in, and even after, some of my doctors won’t be covered under my plan, leaving me with out-of-pocket costs.

Your donations will help cover:
• Medical bills and specialist visits
• Medications and treatments
• Living expenses while my husband is on leave

My Faith in the Storm

Even in this confusing and difficult time, I have so much hope because my God is bigger than any diagnosis. I believe I am alive only because God urged me to go to the hospital — and I obeyed.

I know He did not give me blood clots, but I also know He can use this season to bring glory to Himself, deepen my relationship with Him, and shape me to be more like Him. That has been true for me. I have come to know the Lord in a way I never had before, and I feel blessed.

Yes, I’m praying for complete healing — but even if it doesn’t come in the way I imagine, I’m okay. I trust Jesus with the journey and believe He will provide through the kindness of others.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.” — Psalm 23:1–4 NLT

If you feel led, please consider donating or sharing my story. Every prayer, every share, and every gift means more than I can put into words. While it’s hard to ask for help, I believe God calls us to bear one another’s burdens — and this is one of those moments.

I trust that my family and I will walk out of this season stronger than before.

Thank you for being part of my healing journey.
