Kaleigh’s Road to the LPGA
Donation protected
Greetings Friends, Fellow Golfers, Sporting Enthusiasts and Supporters,
I am reaching out to you today to help me achieve my dream of playing on the LPGA Tour. Originally from South Africa, I have been a passionate golfer since I started playing the game at the age of 6 years. I was fortunate to have the support of Bryanston Country Club as a junior and amateur and this has continued into my professional career.
As many of you know, I played college golf at Auburn University from 2017-2022 and graduated with a degree in Wildlife Enterprise Management. During my time in college, I was honored to receive the titles of both First Team All-American and First Team All-SEC in 2020.
I obtained my Epson Tour card in late 2021 and started playing on the tour in June 2022 after graduating. I finished 2022 as No. 115 on the money list with playing only the latter half of the year. During this time, I made 7 cuts out of 11 events, with my best finish being T25 at the Murphy El Dorado Shootout in Arkansas. Commencing in January 2023, I have played on both the Ladies European Tour and the Epson tour. I was honored to receive an invite into the Aramco Team Series in Singapore earlier this year, where I finished T13 in the individual event. Following that I have played seven Epson tour events and made five cuts, with my best finish of T5 at the Firekeepers Casino Hotel Championship in Michigan. As of July 25th, 2023, I am ranked No. 64 on the money list. I am gaining valuable experience in being a professional golfer with every tournament I play and, after 18 months, I am more prepared than ever to take this further.
While it has been an incredible experience, I know that in order to achieve my ultimate goal of playing on the LPGA, I need to take my game up a notch. I will be going through Q-school at the end of the year to compete for an LPGA Tour card in 2024. However, attending Q-school is a significant financial undertaking and I cannot do it alone. With your help, I can focus solely on honing my golf skills and competing at the next level.
Your donation will go towards the following costs:
entry fees for Stage 1: $2,500 and Stage 2: $3,000 = Total $5,500;
travel expenses of approximately $3,000, including flights, car rental and gas; and
lodging estimated at $2,000.
Any contribution would go a long way to reaching my dream, no matter how small.
I truly appreciate any support you can offer, whether it be a donation or simply passing on this post to others on social media.
Thank you for your time and consideration of my request.
Yours in golf,
Kaleigh Telfer
