Donation protected
The Kaleidoscope Hole, a 2024 Burning Man Honoraria project, is all about community coming together. It is a conceptual, life-size, interactive kaleidoscope made of 3 rotatable, wooden rings (8x8ft, 6x6ft, 4x4ft) that form a kaleidoscopic tunnel pointed at the man. Painted with UV reactive paint and lit by blacklights and LEDs at night, it engages us into a collaborative unique psychedelic journey with it and with other citizens.
When dormant at night, the blacklights will illuminate the hand-painted mandala patterns. Each ring will also be illuminated by multicolored LEDs, paired with sensors and a movement tracking system. As people approach the rings within a certain number of feet, it will sense them and awaken the LEDs. It will light up even more when someone is touching or spinning the ring, and each ring will have a heart rate sensor that citizens can touch and the ring lighting will sync with their heartbeat.
We're a diverse group of 11+ global go-getters of different ages, ethnicities and genders, and the project is female led. Our team is supporting this project worldwide, from California, to Florida, Massachusetts and India.
We're seeking donations to help support this art project and the artists involved in its creation. Building, storing, transporting and maintaining a project of this size is costly, and any bit helps us to make - and keep - this art project dream a reality. We've never been so excited, and we're grateful for any amount of support!
