My name is Kaleb and this is my story from my recent ER visit from my wife’s Abigail’s eyes -

Kaleb and I went to the
ER early Sunday morning because he was throwing up for over 3 hours. After a while, he got prescription meds and we went home.
Monday morning thru afternoon, he was feeling
But in the evening, he started randomly shaking and his muscles kept cramping/spasming. We thought he was dehydrated, so we waited for a few hours.
But it wouldn't go away.
Around 11:45pm on Monday, we went to the ER. After hours of waiting and his shaking getting worse, the doctor told us he was having a reaction to the prescription they gave us and were going to admit him to the hospital.
So they took him to an exam room for more privacy while they gave him some meds to help the shaking. We waited there for a while.
Around 5am a nurse came to take Kaleb to the ICU

In the ICU, they gave him fluids and more meds to help the shaking.
When I asked why we were in the ICU, I was just told he needed
"closer observation".
He was there all day Tuesday and most of the day on Wednesday.
I found out why we were in the ICU on Tuesday evening.
Because his muscles were so clenched and tight for so long, they're worried about rhabdomyolysis
Which basically means, that if he clenched so hard that his muscles tore and released proteins (CK) into his blood stream, it could lead to kidney failure pretty quickly if it's too high.
The fever, sweating, muscle soreness, spasms, shaking are all symptoms of that (why we went to the ER monday night)

We stayed in the ICU all day Tuesday and through the evening
Wednesday.
Around 7pm on Wednesday, we were moved to a normal room.
Then released Thursday afternoon. The CK levels were finally down to a regular level Thursday.
The entire experience was terrifying. The fear I felt was unlike anything else. I was so scared I was going to lose my husband less than 2 months into our marriage.
BUT THANK YOU, JESUS!!! Holy Spirit was so close through every moment- the tears, the confusion, the uncertainty. We saw God in our friends and family that came to pray and support us, in worshiping through the hard parts. God was so near.
