Kale Litwiller’s Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Last July Kale was diagnosed with stage 3 liver cancer and had 50% of his liver removed in August, at the time of surgery (because he had blood in his urine, this is what prompted ct scan and both cancers were diagnosed at the same time) they did a biopsy of a spot on his bladder and it came back with cancer in the bladder too. After he recovered from the liver surgery the urologist started him on immunotherapy for 6, once a week treatments which were injected through a catheter, it was a very uncomfortable 6 weeks for Kale. After the 6 weeks of immunotherapy he had a break (just before thanksgiving immunotherapy treatments ended) and he then started having bowel problems so on January 16 he had a colonoscopy and they found a tumor (cancer) in which they couldn’t even get past with the scope to do the colonoscopy so the dr put in a urgent request/referral for surgery and on January 22 he had the tumor removed from the colon. During the colon surgery the urologist also removed a tumor and scraped some redness from the bladder. We just learned today from the biopsy of the bladder and the colon that there is still cancer in the bladder and that Kale now has stage 3 colon cancer that will require chemo. As for the liver cancer, they think they got it all but they are saying it will eventually return. He’s in some pain and just can’t seem to get a break. Some days he’s down because he doesn’t know what’s going to happen but with prayer and persistence we believe he can beat this. It is tough getting diagnosed with one type of cancer let alone three! We thank you for thinking of Kale and we appreciate all the prayers we can get! This fund raiser is being put together for Kale because he has always wanted to take a big game hunting trip out west and considering we don’t know what the future of his prognosis is, we as his family would like to put this together for him to help take his mind off everything he is going through.
