Our dear sweet dog Kala is in need of surgery immediately (9/22) to have her Gallbladder removed. She is hospitalized and receiving excellent care at Sage Veterinary Center in San Jose, but the cost is substantial (initial costs are $10,000). We are asking for financial support in covering Kala's surgery and associated care. She will be hospitalized for at least two nights and may need additional treatments depending on how the surgery goes.
Nicole adopted Kala in 2015 soon after moving to California. She provided companionship and comfort during a difficult and sometimes lonely period. Due to Kala's history as a street dog in Taiwan, she was very timid in the beginning - it took weeks before she would comfortably jump on the couch and she had a lot of separation anxiety. However as her true personality came out, Kala showed herself to be extremely sweet and pretty sassy too (she gives a mean side-eye). When Nicole and Ryan started dating in late 2018, Kala quickly won him over, and he won her over too. She loves going on long walks with Ryan, laying in the sun, getting belly rubs/butt scratches, and going on hiking/backpacking adventures with Ryan and Nicole.
Any and all support would mean the world to both of us because she is part of our family. The unforeseen stress of an absolutely unanticipated surgery has shaken us deeply. We want to see our sweet, goofy girl back to being herself.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Nicole & Ryan
