Our son, Kaivon, is only 8 years old, but he has faced serious medical challenges his entire life.

Since birth, Kaivon has had ongoing spinal issues that went undiagnosed for years, causing pain, difficulty with basic bodily functions, and frequent accidents that affect his daily life. Because of these health needs, Kaivon is currently being homeschooled so he can keep up with his education while managing his medical care.

Kaivon now urgently needs spinal surgery at Akron’s Children Hospital to correct a tethered cord & prevent paralyzation— a procedure critical for his health, comfort, and ability to live a normal, active life. We’re expecting up to a week hospital stay. Watching him struggle every day has been heartbreaking, and we are determined to give him the care he desperately needs.

The impact on our family is immense. My wife(our sole provider) will have to miss work to be with Kaivon and support our family during his hospital stay, adding to the financial strain. We’ve applied for Ronald McDonald House to help with lodging near the hospital, but they are often fully booked, making it difficult to find affordable accommodations. Even with insurance, the costs of surgery, hospital stays, and caring for our family are overwhelming.

We are reaching out to friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers to make it possible for myself, my wife & Kaivon’s 9 year old sister to be by his side during this hard time.
