Kaits Crisis of Undiagnosed Chronic Illness
Donation protected
The last 13 months we have watched our sister and her fiancés life get turned upside down. Kait is an adventure seeking, free spirit, with deep love of animals, nature, and her family. For the last year she has been home bound and suffering. Her quality of life has been stolen, she’s unable to work and unable to do the things her and Chad hold dear.
On January 1st 2022 Kait was rushed to the hospital and nearly lost her life from becoming septic from an undiagnosed GI illness. She was thankfully released from the hospital a week later and told to “recover and follow up with doctor” at home. Since then she has had no answers and ongoing debilitating symptoms. She has seen multiple doctors, tried countless medications, has undergone more testing than you can imagine and still has no relief and no answers.
The financial burden they have incurred from the care she has received is compiling and unmanageable. Due to her chronic condition she has been disabled by pain and constant symptoms. She has gone from working a successful and thriving photography business while hitting the trails multiple times a month to being housebound and slowly watching her quality of life decline. To add insult to injury the last week her beloved best friend and companion of 12 years Bo Kansas also fell ill and has had to undergo extensive testing and veterinary services that ultimately led to the end of her life on February 23, 2023. Being in the state that Kait is in, Bo was her lifeline to comfort, company and normalcy.
As you can imagine the pain of this loss is unimaginable for their family on top of the hardest year they have had to endure. Kait is in need of more in depth care for her illness that is not covered by insurance. Their family has endured challenge after challenge and they have finally fell to their knees asking for their community to help with financial assistance for their crippling medical bills for both Kait and Bo. They no longer need to suffer in solitude and silence. If you feel inclined and have the means, please donate to help our sister get the life she loves back with her family, Chad and Otis.
