However, I end the week incredibly moved and humbled by the course of events in April and the kindness & generosity of others. I have an exciting miraculous update to share!
After 7 years of a long and enduring journey (lots of labs, pokes, appointments, dialysis, and surgeries), my 17-year-old daughter, Kaitlyn received her “New Kidney” on April 20th at Seattle Children’s Hospital! She is on the path to recovery despite some hiccups! I am incredibly grateful for those that have reached out with prayers, good vibes, and kind words!
I’ve been touched by those that have offered to set-up a Go-Fund Me on our behalf to help cover expenses while in Seattle for up to 3 months as the kidney settles into its new home. I’ve created a Go-Fund Me Page if you would like to help us directly but please do not feel obligated.
This miracle could not have been possible without the generous donation from a registered organ donor as well as the medical professionals, support staff, and organizations founded to support those affected by this need.
Ironically, the month of April is National Donate Life Month and this week is National Pediatric Transplant Week. I urge you to consider registering to be an organ donor, donate blood, donate your time, or simply donate a smile to a stranger and help keep the world a brighter place.
