My Story: A Decade in the Dark
I am writing this because I have reached a breaking point. For 9 years—since the very start of my period—I have lived in constant, debilitating pain.
For five of those years, I fought to be heard. I went back and forth to doctors, describing the agony I was in, only to be dismissed or told nothing was wrong. Over the last four years alone, I’ve undergone internal scans and multiple ultrasounds. Every single one came back "clear," leaving me feeling hopeless and alone in my own body.
Last year, I finally got the proof I needed. An MRI confirmed what I’ve known all along: Endometriosis and significant scar tissue. While I finally have a diagnosis, I don't have a solution. The current wait time for surgery to remove this tissue is two years. There is no way to speed this up through the standard system, and I simply cannot spend another 700+ days living in this level of pain. My life is on hold, and my body is exhausted.
To get my life back, I am seeking private surgery (Laparoscopy and Excision). Going private means I can see a specialist within weeks rather than years. It means I can stop managing symptoms and start actual recovery.
The funds raised will go directly toward:
• Private Consultant & Specialist Fees
• The Laparoscopic Surgery & Hospital Stay
• Post-Op Recovery Support
After 9 years of being told "nothing is wrong," having a diagnosis is a relief, but the wait feels like a final hurdle I can't jump on my own. Any amount you can contribute—even the cost of a coffee—brings me one step closer to a life without constant pain.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing my story. Awareness is everything.
Thank you for seeing me and for your kindness.
