Hello! I am Morgan. At the end of December 2024, my sister, Kaitlyn, found herself facing an unexpected challenge - uncontrollable pain in her abdomen that led her to the ER. She underwent tests and scans, which ultimately revealed a diagnosis of Hemoperitoneum, caused by a ruptured ovarian cyst. She was transported from an urgent care and remained in the ER until a bed opened up. Her hemoglobin levels were critically low, just 1 point away from needing a transfusion, but the surgical team worked to remove almost 1L of blood from her abdomen and stop the bleeding. The surgeon reported that the bleeding had been slow and ongoing for some time before her hospitalization.
Kaitlyn is a local full-time hospice nurse. She has been with her company for 4 years but they do not offer paid time off or other benefits. The stress from lost wages and medical bills is starting to pile up, and reaching this goal would help her and her two beautiful boys with living expenses and medical bills to help get them transitioned back into normal life. Anything helps. Thank you so much for your support!
