Kaitlyn Hughes was a part of our Fairfield Girls Lacrosse family, and the impact she had on those around her will not be forgotten. As a program, we talk often about more than just lacrosse, we talk about building confidence, handling pressure, supporting teammates, and growing as individuals.

This scholarship has been created to honor Kaitlyn’s life and carry those values forward.

Each year, the Kaitlyn Hughes Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a senior player in our program who demonstrates resilience, strong character, commitment to her team, and the ability to face challenges with strength and a positive mindset. We also recognize the importance of mental health in our student-athletes, and this scholarship will reflect the importance of supporting one another both on and off the field.

The high school lacrosse experience is about more than wins and losses. It’s about learning how to handle adversity, how to respond under pressure, and how to grow through challenges. These lessons stay with our players long after their final game.

Our goal is to establish a scholarship that will continue year after year, keeping Kaitlyn’s memory alive through the players who represent what she stood for.
