Kaitlyn Brann’s Funeral, Resting Place Support
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Monica Lewis, and I’m starting this Gofundme to help the Brann family after an unbearable loss.
Kaitlyn Marie Brann, beloved daughter, sister, and girlfriend, died on May 12th, 2023 while rock climbing in Big Cottonwood Canyon in Cottonwood Heights, Utah just east of Salt Lake City. Kaitlyn was belaying for her boyfriend Robert Scott “Scottie” Hogg Jr., on “Goodro’s Wall” on Storm Mountain Island when part of the rock wall unexpectedly came apart above them and a falling boulder struck her. Kaitlyn was just 34 years old when her beautiful life came to a tragic end.
Now that Kaitlyn’s boyfriend’s GoFundMe page has reached its goal for his medical expenses, which is what Kaitlyn would have wanted, we are asking for any help for the Brann family who have just experienced a double blow - not only did they just lose Kaitlyn, but just six months prior Kaitlyn’s stepfather Richard Heidt died from cancer. This has hit the Brann family hard, both financially and emotionally, and we’re asking for any help that you can.
By contributing to this fund, you will be greatly helping with offsetting the Brann family’s funeral expenses, grief counseling, and with securing Kaitlyn a final resting place. While some of Kaitlyn’s ashes have been distributed to the family to be scattered in beautiful places that Kaitlyn loved, most of her cremains will be laid to rest at Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery in Erie, Pennsylvania where her stepfather Richard Heidt is interred and peacefully waiting on his wife, Kaitlyn’s mother, Barbara Brann, who will be laid to rest beside him.
Let’s show our love and support for Kaitlyn now that she’s gone, give her the final resting place that she deserves, and help her grieving family in their time of need…
