Hello friends! On October 10-17 I get the chance to go back to Guatemala! I went this past March with my church, Missio Dei, and it was a life changing experience!
I will be leading a small team of girls and we will be working at with Kids Alive Guatemala. The mission of Kids Alive is to give at risk girls, often victims of sexual abuse, a safe place to live, and provide the emotional, spiritual, and physical care they need. Their long-term goal is to help the girls recover from the trauma they have experienced and safely reintegrate them to their families and the community. During their time with Kids Alive, the girls receive education, trauma-focused therapy, protection, and legal support.
For the week that we are there we will be helping in the school at the Oasis. The purpose of this school is to get the girls who are "below grade level" up to the level they should be so they can go to a Guatemalan school with their peers. In the afternoons we will be working on building an outdoor prayer garden.
To be able to take this trip I need to raise $1,000. I would love it if you'd pray for the team while we are there and for the mission of Kids Alive. Donations, if you are able to give, would also be greatly appreciated!
