Kai James' Spain Trip

Dear Loved ones and Friends,
I have been selected to spend sixteen days in Madrid, Spain. The selection process was challenging; I spent many days writing essays and filling out profiles and ultimately I was selected.
While I'm in Spain I will stay with a host family who has a daughter in the seventh grade like me. This exchange program is unique and is run through two schools: Northern Hills Middle School in Michigan and LICEO, a school in Spain.
During the sixteen days, I will be spending there, I will be fully immersed in the Spanish culture. In case you do not know I have been a part of the Spanish Immersion program since I was in preschool and have been speaking fluent Spanish ever since.
Going on this trip will greatly improve my knowledge and fluency in my second language.
During my time in Spain, I will get to visit many incredible places such as The Ancient Ruins, The Royal Palace, Toledo and many others. There are many incredible restaurants and stores we can visit, too. The city of Madrid is a beautiful city.
There is another factor: the cost. In order to go on this trip, I have to raise $3500.00. My parents and sisters have already promised me $1000.00. But I know there will be a need for spending money and supplies for the trip as well.
