Hi, I’m raising money to go towards my 3 month old foal’s (Kai) vet bills. He was a surprise foal from my yearling filly, born on Easter Monday. As much of a blessing as he is, he has already suffered from 2 bad injuries and given me some large vet bills. 4 days ago he had a complete freak accident in the field which ended up with a large metal hook through his cheek.

So, this led to him needing an emergency vet on a Sunday night (costing 175 just for the call out), stitches both inside and outside of his mouth, sedation, antibiotics, pain meds and his first round of tetanus vaccines.

He has now reopened his stitches (external) and will require another round of sedation and stitches. Then in 5 days he will need the external stitches removed. In 3 and a half weeks he will need his second tetanus vaccine. I will also be getting him a passport ASAP so he can be insured.

I firmly believe if you can’t afford the vet bills you shouldn’t buy the animal, and I refuse to neglect him of the care he needs. But sadly him coming along was just not predictable and he is too young to be weaned/sold right now.

He is such a fighter and I wouldn’t usually ever consider doing this but I have to do whatever I can for him.
