These our our Hawaii ohana that we've known for 25 years and love dearly. Anything you can help with would be so appreciated! You can donate through gofundme or by venmo: @EricRoss-Anderson. By sharing this post is another way you can help :)
“Help and Hope. I want to start this out by saying we have been so blessed, and that right when we need them, both Heavenly Father and Jesus have moved mountains to give us what we've needed as a little ohana. They have never failed us. But this morning we need some prayers. After welcoming baby Tia in a Corona filled world we thought we knew what crazy was. We were wrong. After about a week of labored breathing, some chest pains, and trouble eating our sweet Kainoa wasn't getting better and we contacted our awesome family doctor. That led to a series of events where Kainoa tested negative for Covid, but we came to discover that Kainoa has a collapsed lung, his entire lung cavity is filled with fluid, and has a decently large malignant growth in his chest. Last night they told me we know it's cancer, we just need to run some labs to find out what kind. My sweet little boy has Cancer. I mean this is the little boy who asks HF to bless Jesus in his prayers. Who does that? He's handling this like a Warrior while the rest of us are falling apart. Please pray for Kai.”

Here we are 7 days later, and they have learned that Kainoa has been diagnosed with T-Cell, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Kai will be at Primary Children's Hospital with EricRoss (Dad) for approximately 30 days, while he undergoes the beginnings of his journey with chemo, and
treatment. This may well be the toughest 30 days for Kainoa, and his parents are asking for prayers on his behalf so that he will be sustained and the treatment will be effective. If all goes well, Kai will be able to come home after those 30 days, then will make weekly visits to Primary Children’s for additional chemotherapy for the following 9 months. After that we anticipate that chemo will continue once a month for a total of 3 years and 3 months total. The journey is long.
The experience isn’t any easier at home where Anela (Mom), just underwent a C-section 2 weeks ago and is in recovery while caring for their other children, Kala’i (5), Aulani (3), and Tiare (2 Weeks). EricRoss will soon be seeking new employment as his current job with Manti High School, as an Americorps Member ends at the end of May just as both he and Kainoa are expected to return home. They (Parents) have both expressed the peace and sustaining influence that has permeated
their lives because of the prayers you have already offered. This can even be seen in how Kainoa is handling this difficult situation. While the most important and ultimate outcome for them is that Kainoa heal and become Cancer free, the reality is that they need financial help. Between the medical expenses, constant travel, and financial burdens of being unemployed with a family of 6, their lives have undergone real and significant change. They would never ask for financial help, nor is it their priority right now. That being said, your help will allow them to maximize the time and care they can provide for Kai, while minimizing worry. Please if you are able and willing, help make their burdens light. With your prayers you have already made a difference they will never forget.
