Aloha family and friends. Kaili suffered a stroke on March 15 and was airlifted to Straub in Honolulu. He was diagnosed with an inoperable brain bleed that is deep in his brain.

Doctors are unsure of the damage caused by the stroke and the subsequent bleeding that occurred in his brain. The unknown status of his brain function and overall health is the family's biggest concern at the moment. He is the main breadwinner for the family and they will have the extra burden of traveling to Oahu to support him, general living expenses, and medical bills to contend with.

Due to the rapid response of his daughter Wai, medics were able to get to him quickly and we are so very hopeful that he will regain his abilities. At present, he is intubated and unable to communicate verbally.

My name is Karen Sherwood (Olanolan) and I’m helping to raise funds for my step-son, Kaili, and his wife Mandy, and young children Wailani and Roc. Kaili is a much-loved member of the Olanolan Ohana. He is a sweet husband, father to Chance, Lilinoe, Wailani, and Roc, son to Michael and Janet, Uncle, Papa, Cousin, and friend. He is a heavy machine operator working with his dad, Michael, and his son, Chance installing septics and digging trenches on the North Shore of Kauai. He is always there to help family and friends.

Now he needs help. We are hoping that anyone who can, will open their hearts and help us raise funds to support his family during what looks to be a long recuperation. He will probably be on Oahu for several months and his rehabilitation will be lengthy.
