Help Save Kai – Our Sweet Girl Is Fighting for Her Life

Kai is our sweet, funny, loving 4-year-old dog — and truly, our best friend. She’s the heart of our home. She loves cheese more than anything, enjoys long walks, and greets every person (and animal!) like they’re already her best friend.

Just a few days ago, Kai started acting strangely — she was sluggish, not eating, and began vomiting. We rushed her to the emergency vet, where they ran every test imaginable. At first, everything came back unclear because she was still in heat, but her condition kept worsening.

Then everything changed.

Kai needed emergency surgery. During the procedure, her ovary ruptured, and her condition became critical. The vet team at Piper Emergency Clinic worked quickly and did everything they could to save her life — and thankfully, they did. She’s now recovering in the ICU.

But the cost of her emergency surgery, hospitalization, and care has reached $21,000, and we simply don’t have the resources to cover it all. We were approved for some CareCredit, but it's not nearly enough.

This has been one of the most terrifying experiences of our lives. Kai means everything to us. We are asking — humbly and with so much love — for help.
