I’m Karisa, the granddaughter of Kai Hutchins. We’re heartbroken to share that he has passed away at 93 years old.

My grandpa was an SF jazz legend, locally known for playing his saxophone outside of Candlestick Park during 49ers games, outside of the Giants Stadium, and on Chestnut Street. If you’ve ever walked past him playing outside of the stadium he probably serenaded you with “happy birthday”. He was the kind of man who loved to entertain and make strangers smile with his music.

He was a kind father, grandfather, and friend whose warmth, humor, and generosity touched everyone who knew him.

We’re raising funds to give him the proper Celebration of Life he deserves, that honors his legacy.
