Kai Brown's Medical Expenses and Family

Donation protected
On Tuesday night, 07JAN2025, Kai Brown, my niece, suffered an extreme health incident. She fell into cardiac arrest while at home with her parents and siblings. When 911 was called, paramedics rushed to their house. Paramedics were able to revive her after a few long minutes of no pulse and no breath. She was rushed to the hospital and placed in the ICU where she continues to recover.

This girl is normally so busy with volleyball, basketball, track, and many other activities. Not to mention the friends and family she is always around and brightening their day.

With her heart stopping for a period of time, medical staff are keeping a close eye on her. Her heart, lungs, and brain suffered due to this incident. Her heart is good and strong, but her lungs are still filled with fluid, and they are trying to get them back to 100%. Her brain has a few spots that doctors are having a hard time figuring out what happened and if there is anything wrong. She has a long road to recovery, and needless to say, it is not cheap.

My sister, her mother, has not been at her current job for 1 year, so she is currently not eligible for FMLA. We are all trying to make sure the cost of medical bills and non-normal living conditions do not put this family behind or in a bad spot financially. We are not sure what will be covered by insurance and what will not. Please help this family out by taking this one thing off their minds and off their plate. Any help is greatly appreciated!
