Help Us Save Kahlua: Fighting IMHA with EVERYTHING We've Got!
The love of our life Kahlua has been diagnosed with a life-threatening autoimmune disease called IMHA (immune-mediated hemolytic anemia). Her body is attacking her own red blood cells, and it's been a terrifying rollercoaster of emergency visits, transfusions, and 24/7 monitoring. This disease is a waiting game, we need to keep her going long enough for the immune supprecents to kick in and stablize, but that is very costly and can take weeks. On the back end if she weathers the storm she can live a happy and healthy life. Most cases end in tragity because financially it is difficult to maintain weeks of treatment, however we will NOT give up on her.
So far, we've spent over $17,000 trying to give her the fighting chance she deserves. Her amazing medical team is doing all they can, but we're not out of the woods yet—and the costs are mounting. We’re facing ongoing transfusions, specialist visits, and long-term medication.
Kahlua is still fighting. She's shown moments of brightness, love, and tail wags through all this, and we believe she has more life to live, if we can make it through the next week or so.
If you're able to help, even a small donation means the world. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this with others. Every bit helps us stay in the fight for her life.
