Hi Everyone. My name is Kahjirah; on May 12th, I was notified that I had received a Fulbright Fellowship to South Korea; after eight months of waiting, my hard work and dedication paid off.

During the Summer, I worked for a non-profit organization in Boston, where I taught 7th-grade social studies and began saving for my departure. Since I came from a single-parent, low-income household, I knew preparing for such a trip would be financially stressful! However, in October, my family faced unimaginable financial hardships. Using the money I earned this summer and my current part-time job as an English tutor, I began to cover house bills and other costs to maintain my family's financial needs.

After weeks of debating whether I should reject this opportunity, my mother advised me to continue pursuing this journey, so I am reaching out to anyone willing to help. These funds gathered will allow me to purchase all the necessities I need for my year-long fellowship in South Korea.
