Kahekili Marciel Lahaina Fire Aid

Aloha Kakakou. My name is John Keoni Marciel and I am fundraising on behalf of my brother, Kahekili Marciel, and our family home that was lost. The family house, where my brother lived, was also the central gathering location for our family and was completely destroyed on August 8, 2023.

News coverage of the devastating wildfires on Maui spread quickly worldwide as it is reported to be the worst natural disaster to ever hit the Hawaiian Islands and the deadliest wildfire in modern history.

We plan to rebuild our family home in the same place that 5 generations have enjoyed thus far. We hope to one day enjoy the shade from the mango trees my father, William “Grizzly” Marciel, planted back in the early 70’s when the house was built. The seeds were specially brought from our Keanae family home to perpetuate the Kaauamo/ Kaililaau legacy now on the west side.

The money received will go towards aiding Kahekili now and the future clean up and rebuilding plans for the family home. It will be a long road ahead but we will restore the property.

We are but One family of thousands who need help and care. Please continue to pray for Lahaina, Maui and all the people of Hawai’i as we are in mourning for the lives lost and the survivors who are extremely traumatized by this horrific tragedy.
