Update: Thank you all for your overwhelming support in aiding the Kahahane Ohana. We have upped the goal to 30,000. The family has decided to use 100% of this fund towards the rebuilding of our home. Aloha, my name is Jeffrey "Keoni" McKee. My family’s house on Front Street in Lahaina has been a safe haven for generations. My grandfather, James Kahahane, built the house himself in the sixties. It has housed aunties and uncles, grandmothers and grandchildren, and is the home I grew up in, alongside my brother and my cousins. It’s been a home away from home when I fly back for visits, and a constant source of love, comfort, and delicious food. Until the fire took it.

At the time of the fire my Mom, Brother, Grandmother, two of my Aunties, and two of my Uncles all called it home. Everyone got out okay, but they lost everything. The fire came so quickly, there was no time to pack. No clothes, no albums holding priceless memories, not even all their cats. Everything is gone. In the photo below you can see the rock wall to the back of our house that our Grandpa James built. It is all that is left of our home.

Many of you have reached out to me asking how you can help. I’ve set up this GoFundMe page so that those of you that wish to assist monetarily can do so.
