Kage Ekstrom Medical Fundraiser

Donation protected
On July 4th, Kage Ekstrom was involved in a fireworks accident in Mandan, North Dakota. He was airlifted to the Burn Center at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, where emergency surgery was performed on both his hands.

On his left hand, Kage lost his thumb, index and middle fingers, as well as a significant portion of his hand. Kage’s right hand also required repair surgery; fortunately, his surgeon is hopeful Kage will regain full use of that hand.

Kage, a 17-year-old who will be a senior at Mandan High School this fall, is facing at least three more surgeries on his left hand, including tissue grafts from his legs to his hand. Kage also will require at least one more surgery on his right hand.

It is unknown at this time how long Kage will need to stay at the Burn Center. Kage will be unable to use either hand for at least four weeks and requires around-the-clock assistance.

Donations to help defray his mounting medical bills are greatly appreciated. Any amount helps. Thank you.
