Kaema Akpan Schenck

Kaema Akpan Schenck, a young and beautiful wife filled with the zeal for life and starting a family, fell ill to multiple traumatic brain aneurysms on March 6, 2019, and she was rushed to surgery. Immediately thereafter, Mildred Akpan, Kaema's mother, boarded a plane and left for Austin, TX, to be by her daughter's hospital bedside where she has been for the last two months - taking a leave from her job as any mother would.

As the family deal with this traumatic injury to Kaema - our beloved daughter, niece, granddaughter, and cousin, Kaema continues to fight for her life as well as the life of her 23-week unborn son. According to the medical updates, the baby’s vitals have been stabilized, but Kaema’s condition has deteriorated. As Kaema fight for her unborn son’s life and hers, the family anticipates another month or two of this burden. We hope and pray you can lend your support to the family during this most difficult time. As her mother Mildred Akpan sits beside her beside along with Kaema’s husband, John Schenck, family members have been traveling to Austin, TX, to give Mildred the emotional and spiritual support she needs; each spending a week at a time. This has become a financial burden as Kaema's condition remains the same.

According to the medical status, we anticipate another month or two of this burden, your support will be greatly appreciated in helping Mildred and her family meet the unexpected expenses during this period of difficulty.  Our goal is to raise $20,000 (Twenty Thousand Dollars). Please donate to this cause and help us spread the need for help.

As Kaema remains in ICU, the family would also like to thank each and every one of you for your prayers. We would also like to extend our profound thanks and appreciation to the medical staff at St. Davis Episcopal Hospital in Austin, TX, for their continuous commitment by ensuring Kaema gets through this difficult period to enable her to come home and help raise her son (Junior). As you lend support to help the family, we ask that God's grace be with you.
