I’m Kaelin, a trans man from Scotland . This is my fundraiser for top surgery as I have been able to find somewhere in Scotland called Cosmedicare and my secondary option if I can't raise enough money would be to go to abroad (looking like Turkey). Most likely I will have a double incision to remove my breast tissue to achieve the flat chest I've dreamed of. Also liposuction on my hips would be an amazing bonus. Often my chest and hips cause me dysphoria and make me feel uneasy - it just doesn't feel truly me when I look in the mirror. I have been taking testosterone injections since 27th June 2025 and I love that I'm becoming more myself every day, but top surgery would be critical in me feeling truly like the man I am.

I have been quoted £10,995 - £14,500 for Comedicare in Scotland. My abroad option would most likely be Turkey where I am quoted £4300 for surgery and £2000 for lipo. On top of paying up front for surgery, I would need to pay for a surgery referral letter which would cost between £100 - £300; updated passport; travel costs; and maybe accommodation.

It is cheaper to go abroad, but because I live with generalised anxiety disorder, travelling for major surgery would be rough. Being able to have this done in Scotland, close to home and recieve support from my amazing partners, mum, gran and friends, would be fantastic. However, if I cannot raise this much money then I will have to go abroad.

My dream is to be able to have this surgery before I'm 35. I'm scared of the idea of being operated on, but it feels like an essential step in my journey. My goal is to attempt to save and hopefully raise £12,000. It might be impossible, but I'll give it my best shot. If there is any excess from the costs mentioned then I will be using it for clearing my overdraft, other gender affirmation, and, donating to other trans people's fundraisers. Hopefully, this year I will be having my own fundraisers, so stay tuned!
