Dear friends and family of Kaelin Tipoti,
My sister and I are long-time family friends of Kaelin and we wanted to start this GoFundMe account for her because it was the only way we knew how to help out, seeing as she lives in a different state. I am reaching out to all of you and anybody else who can help in an effort to support Kaelin in her ongoing medical journey.
Kaelin, and her entire family, are the kindest and most friendly people we have known. It is very unfortunate and saddening that Kaelin is just 23 years old and experiencing terrible medical issues which have prevented her from many things so far. Kaelin was previously working two different jobs, but due to her medical issues, can only work one job.
Kaelin began having her hip pain in 2013 and her first doctor had shrugged it off. Fast forward to 2015, the hip pain was persistent and Kaelin was diagnosed with a torn labrum in her hip. The labrum in the hip acts as a cushion and holds the ball of the thigh bone securely in place within the hip socket. We can only imagine the pain this would cause when walking. The tear was causing too much pain, so she was forced to have surgery within that same timeframe; this surgery was not exactly a repair surgery, but an arthroscopy in hopes of relieving the torn labrum.
After the first surgery, the pain in her hips was still an issue and caused her great pain. Kaelin had her second surgery to completely repair her torn labrum in December of 2017. The doctors used eight ropes (usually five are used) to replace her torn hip labrum.
Today, Kaelin is still awaiting a third pending surgery because her hip replacement didn't hold and all eight of the replacement ropes were torn. Her doctor told her that it was the worst case he had seen.
We are all praying and hoping for the best for Kaelin. If anybody can please support Kaelin and help her to save up enough funds for her surgery and compensate for missed work, we would all be very grateful. We love Kaelin and pray that God blesses her and watches over her in her ongoing journey. Thank you for taking the time to read this, God Bless.
