Hello, my name is Barbara Sherman Erler. I have found myself in a position I never thought I would be in. For 30 years I worked as a youth director. I ran programs for children and teens. I helped many people over those years. After marrying my 2nd husband 4.5 years ago. My 1st husband passed after a long battle with diabetic complications. 4 years ago we moved in with my in-laws to help out. My mother in law passed this past May. My husband and I took care of my father in law. At the age of 99 his health declined quickly and his needs increased. Two weeks ago my current husband, William, was in the hospital. I had called my husband’s estranged son to come stay with grandpa. After arriving home from the hospital one night the police served me with a restraining order, so I left the house. A few days later my husband was released from the hospital and went home. We both were served with restraining orders. We took as much as we could and left. We are living in a hotel. Our temple has given us grocery gift cards and more. We need a lawyer to represent us on January 30. We cannot afford to hire one on our own. We are asking for donations to help us pay the lawyer and make things a little easier on the 30th. We have tried every lead given to us with no luck. We are also looking for a place to stay the first week of February. As I said in the beginning, I am devastated that this is my life. It’s very hard to ask, but, we need to pay for a lawyer and groceries.
