A little love & support for Lisa & Chip

Our dear, sweet Lisa Terepocki was just beginning her 2nd year of teaching this September, happy to be back with her students and colleagues. She has been working so hard to complete her coursework and degree to do what she is most passionate about: teach. This week, when she was planning for an exciting year with her students, she realized something was very wrong. She was in significant pain that was not going away. She ended up in ER this last weekend and underwent many tests, resulting in a shocking diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer. Because of the intensity of her pain, she was immediately hospitalized and has recently undergone emergency surgery to remove the tumour. She has been told that she will likely need radiation and chemotherapy and will need to be off work for at least a year.

As friends and family, we are in disbelief that this could happen to someone so young and vibrant. Although we are all incredibly saddened by this diagnosis, we know that Lisa will fight this with her characteristic humour and perseverance. We will be supporting her in any way we can- with love, prayers, funny stories, emails, food, and financial support. 

This is why we have decided to set up this go fund me page. Chip has been taking time off work to care for Lisa and will be taking time off in the near future as well. It is our intention to try to fundraise to enable them to have money for the additional expenses they have at this time, as well as for upcoming expenses- from small things like the mounting hospital parking fees, getting cable TV for Lisa this year, any assistive devices she might need, or for helping pay the rent with a reduced income. 

Everyone who comes in contact with Lisa knows that she exudes warmth and caring for everyone around her. She is beloved as a granddaughter, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, colleague and teacher. She is one of the sweetest, loveliest people you could ever hope to know and have in your circle. She is incredibly supportive when her friends and family have gone through challenges and we want to be there for her at this time.

There are so many that would like to show their support for her and Chip during her recovery. Your messages of support are kindly accepted on this page as encouragement to Lisa. 

She is focused on a positive outcome and we are focused on supporting them in any way we can during this emotionally and physically challenging time. We thank you for any donation that you are able to give. They are not the type to ask for help, but we insisted on trying to support them this year. 

We will try to update this page with how things are going for Lisa.
