Kadienne's soccer trip to Spain

Hi! My name is Kadienne and I am a 13 year old who loves soccer! I have so much fun when I am around the game and something within me lights up when I play. It is my happy place. I have been playing soccer for the past 6 years. It is something I look forward to doing everyday. I still get the pre-game nerves but my favourite thing about the sport is scoring goals. I think I am a striker at heart. But this past year has seen me grow in learning to play other positions. I have a new found love for the center forward position and I do find being a mid-fielder exciting and freeing in what I can do with my newly attained skills. I am committed to 3 times a week training apart from a weekend game. Lately, I am also learning to train myself on days I don't have planned sessions with my club. This is teaching me discipline and how to stay self-motivated. I want to be a better player and my goal is to play professionally one day! Soccer is a passion of mine because it has brought me great friendships, taught me to be a team player, growing me as a leader, and shaping me to be a better athlete each day.

This year I was given the privilege to trial for a position with a scouting team. To qualify for a position would give me the opportunity to compete with top youth teams in Europe. I was so nervous before the trial sessions. There was a lot of pressure building up to those moments. I kept applying myself at training, consistently playing my best at games, I encouraged myself and learnt to be less afraid making mistakes on the field. This kept me going and I am so excited to share that I got chosen to be one of the 16-20 girls in my age group representing Sydney and going to Spain! I will be competing in the East Mallorca Girls Cup in October for 10 days. And be given the opportunity to play against teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona Football Clubs. The East Mallorca Girls Cup is one of the biggest international youth tournaments in the world, which is held in Mallorca, Spain. This will be my first time being overseas, away from my family. I am excited but also nervous! But I do know that this trip will give me exposure into the real world of professional soccer. It will also give me the opportunity to showcase my skills and resilience as an athlete and set myself up for future opportunities with scouting teams in the European league. This opportunity to train, tour on tournament and travel overseas is a big one and I am glad to share my journey with you.

My heart is grateful and thankful to God for giving me this chance to make a difference in the soccer world. I hope to give this my best effort and I pray that it will be a shaping, growing and rewarding experience for me. Thank you for reading my story and being part of my journey.
