Some relief for Kade!

Kade was diagnosed with Covid on November 7. She wasn’t feeling terribly aside from simultaneously having a double ear infection. Brielle got all of that as well - so Kade couldn’t work - and Brielle needed constant attention! Brielle also came down with a stomach bug and spent a couple days vomiting. We left Grayling for our family Thanksgiving trip to Kissimmee, FL on Friday the 19th which was past her 10 required days of quarantine. Kade still wasn’t feeling well and had been experiencing some mild nausea and vomiting but we had determined it was likely the same stomach bug from Brielle and that it would be gone by the time we reached the sunshine state. It was a long long long drive down with countless stops on the side of the expressway. Severe incessant vomiting and agonizing stomach cramps! We arrived in Florida for vacation on Sunday. By Sunday evening, Kade was hospitalized. After a day without finding anything - She was transferred to a new hospital so she could see a Gastroenterologist. She waited six hours after they said they would be there to pick her up before they got her a room. No pain medication, nothing!!! I called the floor nurse to check her status and could hear her screaming “help me!!!!!!!” The nurse on the phone said “who is your daughter?” And I said “the one screaming for help right now!!!!” After the transfer to a new hospital and being told it was “just Covid”, we found out she had a sepsis UTI and she started receiving antibiotics immediately. It took three days for her vomiting to get under control. She has lost just shy of 30 pounds. Side story…she one moment looked over at me and said “Mama, I’m dying!”
and I’ll never forget it as long as I live.
Her daughter Brielle is six months old and Kade hasn’t seen her in a week. In addition to the physical sickness, she is devastated about not seeing her. Today we thought she would be discharged because the infection has improved - but unfortunately we found out that Covid is attacking her heart.
She arrived without a heart condition and will eventually be leaving with medication she will need to be on for the rest of her life. They won’t allow her to leave now because she is at risk of having a stroke. Her heart rate keeps shooting up over 200 and stays at about 115. She’s had three small blood clots and has to be injected in the stomach with Lovenox (a blood thinner.) She is so concerned about her daughter that she is insisting on leaving against medical advice. The nurse told her “I am begging you not to leave. You won’t receive medication and you could die!”
They have to figure out how much Metoprolol she has to be on before she can leave. Her heart rate has to come down so she’s not at risk for stroke!
She had last week off for work, the weeks before and now this week, and some of the tests and the transfer aren’t covered by her insurance and she’s panicking. She also doesn’t even know if she can travel home right now - especially because we drove! I am just trying to raise money to maybe fly her home (if she’s allowed), cover some medical expenses, and give her some breathing room when she gets back since she’s missed so much work! She is a good kid who has to keep rolling with the punches and this time, she got knocked out.
GoFundMe makes me choose an amount to set as a goal - and that’s uncomfortable for me. Anything helps. She’s spent over a week in the hospital and we are finding out so much isn’t covered. I know we can likely fight and get grants or something since it’s Covid but her being out of work for God only knows how long - (already almost a month since she was diagnosed with Covid until now!!) and the money she’s had to spend for food that doesn’t taste like old corn…and nightgowns for the hospital and medication co-pays…the hospital isn’t close to where my mom lives and we commute constantly - Kade didn’t have the money to start with!  I don’t know the amount, but I know she has a lot of financial burdens heading her way! And maybe with all of that coming, she could also use a day at the damn spa! Two days, whatever! She’s just a kid!
If she can rest easy knowing she’s good for awhile, I could rest too!
I figured since this is some super bad luck, she is going to have some good karma coming her way and just trying to encourage it!
I’m always raising funds for everyone else - this time I need to do it to ease her!
