Kade's Eagle Scout Project: Davidson County Animal Shelter

Donation protected
Hi there, my name is Kade Bays. As a Life Scout, I am currently working towards achieving the Boy Scout Eagle rank, which is the highest rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program offered by the Boy Scouts of America. Since its inception in 1911, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank after going through a lengthy review process. It's worth noting that since 1912, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by over 2.5 million youth.

Through my Scouting journey, I have learned many skills such as fire building, camping, cooking, budgeting, and planning that I believe will be valuable to me throughout my life. I have also learned many other skills that I use every day, such as leadership, integrity, bravery, and character.

"To earn the Eagle rank, I am required to develop and complete a community project. As an animal lover, I chose to focus on creating a safe and caring environment for the animals at my local animal shelter. I approached the director of the Davidson County animal shelter in Lexington, NC to discuss their needs for improving their ability to serve the animals and the families who adopt them.

"My project aims to improve the outdoor pet walking and play area on the shelter property. I will be installing two secure benches and two pet waste stations. These additions to the grounds will provide a safe and clean environment for pets, new families, and shelter volunteers to walk the animals and give them fresh air and the necessary outdoor playtime they need." I will be working with my local scout troop 1208, my friends, and my family to complete this project.

Throughout my scouting journey, I have been fortunate to have the support and encouragement of my family and friends. As I approach the pinnacle of my journey, I am filled with gratitude for each of you. It is with this same gratitude that I ask for your help in a project aimed at improving the lives of animals in Davidson County, NC, as they wait for their forever families. Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for the Davidson County Animal Shelter.

Thank you for your support and your donation. All donations will be used for the purchase of the equipment and supplies needed for this project. Any remaining funds will be donated to the Davidson County Animal Shelter.
