Kade & Lora’s Love Fund

Donation protected
This “Love Fund” has been created in honour of our dear friends during this unimaginably difficult time.

Lora and Kade were lovers who shared a connection that was out of this world. The kind of romantic shimmer that made their friends and family beam with happiness from the joy that the two of them had found in each other. A love that was big and special and beautiful and kismet. They had found their person in one another and it was a sight to behold.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Lora and Kade focused on keeping each other happy, healthy and loved throughout these wild, stressful, trying times. But as the months went on, Kade started experiencing lethargy and back pain in a way that they never had before. So, they went to the doctor to get things checked out. What was soon learned broke all of our hearts.

Multiple tests revealed that our beloved Kade was sick. Very sick. On June 24 th , Kade was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and was given 6-months to 1-year to live. This devastating news changed everything and it was abundantly clear that Kade now had very limited time left -- but the two of them were committed to making the most of it.

The next day, Lora proposed in marriage. Kade eagerly, and exuberantly, accepted. In sickness and in health their love was determined to flourish.

However, Kade’s condition was deteriorating at a terrifying speed. Their liver soon failed them and any kind of cancer treatment was ruled out as their body couldn’t handle further strain.

Nearly two weeks after diagnosis, Kade and Lora were told that, due to Kade’s health, wedding plans should be expedited. So, that Sunday, July 12th , Kade and Lora committed themselves to one another in a breathtaking ceremony held in the atrium of Princess Margaret Hospital. It was beyond beautiful to see them both glowing together, sharing in vows, loving each other in a way that was aspirational to all.

Following the wedding, plans were put in motion to prepare Kade’s living situation for the remainder of their life. Such plans would be financially costly at any time let alone during Covid-19, but they needed to be made. And they were.

Sadly, the two lovebirds wouldn’t have the chance to walk out of that hospital. On July 15th, days after a wedding that was touted by Kade as “The best day of my life”, they passed. It all happened so fast. Three weeks after diagnosis, our dear Kade was gone.

As Lora moves into the unknown territory of a future without Kade physically with them, we are asking friends and family to join us in doing all that we can to support.

This “Love Fund” has been created to help Lora cover the flood of unforeseen costs that have arisen over the last month so that they may peacefully grieve. Because that is, without a doubt, what Kade would have wanted.

In memory of Kade, and in love for Lora, we the organizers are asking for any donations that can be made to ease this tremendously difficult time.
