Help Kade and his family get through these difficult times

Hi, my name is Zoe. I am Nika's twin sister (Kades aunty). For the past two weeks Kade has been sick, on Monday (January 20th) Kade went to the hospital by ambulance as he had respiratory issues and was very lethargic. His symptoms quickly worsened and he was given iv fluids and a prescription for antibiotics and an antiviral. It seemed like he was improving, so he was discharged and returned home. On Thursday (January 23rd) his symptoms quickly worsened again, and he was returned to the hospital and quickly admitted. Since then, he has been diagnosed with influenza A and pneumonia with fluid in his lower left lung. Time passed with no improvements so they ran some more tests and another ultrasound and X-ray. His X-ray came back much worse then his last X-ray and then when his ultrasound came back the fluid in his lower left lung has expanded drastically and his left lung is now collapsed. He is currently on iv fluids, iv antibiotics, and oxygen. Because of the severity of his condition, they may have to be flown to SickKids in Toronto. This means Nika and DJ will continue to be off work for now to be there with Kade. This will cause a major financial burden for their family. The funds raised here will help offset this burden, and allow them to focus on getting Kade healthy and strong.
