Rick Kaczanko, age 46, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2021, leaving behind his wife of 21 years, Kelly, & two children, Jonathan & Emily. He was an active member of his family & community as a Village of Plainfield employee for 15 years. Rick will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Rick Kaczanko was the man to help in any situation. Whether it was a kind word, helping hand or problem solving, he left the world a better place in every interaction he faced. He was a devoted dad and loving husband that treasured the many family memories made on trips to Disney World. He was thrilled to coach his son Jonathan’s soccer team this year, Chicago Fire Junior, and cheer on his daughter Emily at the Plainfield Soccer Association. When not with his family, he enjoyed soccer, volleyball and golf weekly throughout the years. Rick was also a huge Star Wars fan.

As a celebration of his life, we have started a fundraiser as a token of support for his family. Please consider donating, big or small, as this will truly help his family during such a difficult time. All money raised from this campaign will go directly to Kaczanko family. It will cover any costs associated with his passing and take the weight of the world off their shoulders while they go through the grieving process.
