Kaci Brisco ALS Marathon Fund
Donation protected
On December 19, 2019, my father, Tim, was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The ALS Association describes this disease as an "always fatal, neurodegenerative disease". The best that many physicians can give our family is a comfortable way for my father to transition into a life where all is lost but the ability to move his eyes. As a family, we have not, and will not accept this fate.
In June 2020, my father received his first round of stem cell therapy in Guadalajara, Mexico. This treatment definitely helped him, but from his doctor's recommendation, he needs to make the trip back down to Mexico for another round of treatment.
In an effort to fundraise for this procedure, I have committed myself to run the 2021 Clearwater Running Festival Marathon (January 2021). My goal is to raise $1,000 for every mile of this race, which will cover half of the cost of the stem cell procedure.
Please donate, share, and comment -- and wish me luck!
