OMEID International is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in California.
We're dedicated to providing Afghanistan’s children of war with safe housing, education, and health care, as well as the love and support they need to build a future of hope and opportunity.
On May 31, 2017, a blast from a suicide bomber killed an estimated 90 people in Kabul, Afghanistan (click here for the full story).
Since our Board of Directors has family in Kabul who can lend a hand, we're running a brief emergency campaign to provide relief to the victims of this unfortunate attack.
Our donations will help pay for victims' food and medical expenses. All of your donations are tax-deductible, and we will provide donors with regular updates on gofundme and Facebook.

FAQ
***********************************************************
Where would the money go?
The funds will go to Omeid International strictly to be dispersed to families who have been affected. Not a cent of your contributions goes to any of Omeid International's staff or our affiliates, as all of our efforts are voluntary.
How will the money be properly dispersed?
We will partner with Children of War, another well-known organization in the non-profit community that has on-site staff in Afghanistan, to distribute our funds to the right families. They will be able to provide us and donors with photo and video updates.
Who will receive aid?
Coinciding with our goal of helping Afghan orphans, we will focus on families whose children have lost one or more of their parents. We will grant $1,000 for up to 20 families, for a total fundraising goal of $20,000.

Why gofundme.org?
Omeid International began in 2005, and in all our years of active fundraising, gofundme has consistently provided us with the most widely-known and user-friendly platform to collect donations for urgent causes like this. In 2015, for example, we successfully raised over $2,000 for one of our boys to get a heart surgery. Our followers were regularly updated through gofundme and Facebook.
Gofundme is also well-aware that many organizations are rushing to contribute funds to the unfortunate victims of these bombings. Before launching any campaign for this cause, gofundme picks up on this and literally prompts users to follow a set of guidelines as a courtesy to donors.
