Aid for the Victims of Typhoon Odette
Donation protected
As many of you may have seen in the news or in social media, Typhoon Rai (also known as Typhoon Odette locally) has recently struck the central and southern regions of the Philippines. So far, nearly 400 people have lost their lives, more than 500 have been injured, and more than 480,000 individuals have been displaced.
We at UBC Kababayan: Filipino Students' Association are collecting donations for relief operations that will support our "kababayan" (kababayan means "fellow Filipino countryman") in the Philippines. We hope to help ease the hardships that they are currently facing because of the typhoon, and to bring some joy in their hearts for this season of giving.
In order to make this possible, we need all the help and support we can get! If you are able, please consider donating to this cause. You can also help by sharing this gofundme link to your social media accounts, your friends, family, and/or loved ones. Your support will go a long way!
All proceeds will go to the following organizations:
- Tulong Kabataan - a relief and rehabilitation network for victims of calamities
- Simply Share Foundation - a non-profit organization devoted to fighting hunger
- Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc - a non-profit that help provide basic needs for families in crisis
Thank you so much! Maraming salamat!
