My name is Katerina I’m 28, autistic, and disabled, sadly on Jan 22nd my bedroom caught fire and burned everything inside, I lost over 20 years of memories, hard work, and my home in a matter of hours. I can no longer hold a “normal” job and can’t live on my own currently. I’ve been able to get some state assistance but that may change with this 2025 new term.  My father who I live with is a bus driver for Davison school district, he also has physical disabilities and is restricted on what jobs he can work, but he does what he can to take care of us. Unfortunately we did not have home insurance at the time and are in desperate need of help! The fire was so hot it melted everything plastic including windows that was at least 4 yards away from the main fire. The glass blew out and slammed the solid oak door shut, ultimately saving the rest of the house from more damage as firefighters informed us. They said that this was the 4th fire that week alone, the frigid temperatures causing heaters to work overtime and overheat. At least 14 fires locally broke out locally which is a lot in the middle of winter. 

 We need a dumpster, shovels, trash bags, bootie covers, masks, goggles, soot/smoke cleaner, buckets, volunteers, and most importantly donations to rebuild as soon as possible and restore power so my family can move back in. To do that it has to have all electrical replaced, and 2 inspections costing a lot. ($200+) 

 As it stands I’ve lost my collections of manga (over 500 vol.$2.5-4,000 worth), anime ($1,000 worth), video games($8,000 worth), egl/kawaii wardrobe($3-4,000), etc (total estimates $30,000), most of my clothes are now gone, but luckily my family and pets are safe, the house is only burnt upstairs inside my bedroom. The water and smoke damage are the worst, the ceiling collapsed in the living room, the walls are covered in soot, everything needs to be washed top to bottom to remove harmful toxins, medications tossed since ingesting them could make you sick.

 I’ve been asking If people would donate, share, or even help volunteer to clean the house and I would be so grateful for anything!
