Help Me Save Dakota

Donation protected

3/3/15-
Thank you for all of the help and support. We all appreciate it greatly. It has been a week since her last vet visit and she is doing really well. She's back to her active self.  The vet decided to keep her on a low dose of prednisone. We are gradually decreasing it until she will be on one every other day, and she seems to be doing very well so far.

We appreciate all of the help and support we recieved, it touched us all and we are truly greatful that our baby is still with us.

Dakota is normally a very healthy cat, however I noticed that she was acting off when I came home last Friday (1/9/15). She moved about sluggishly as if she was drunk, and her eyes were heavily dilated. We took her to the emergency vet, and they wanted to run a battery of tests on her. She had a seizure, but we do not know tha cause of it, and need to find out for her treatment. She needs blood work, as well as testing, and medicine to stop the seizures. We had hoped that it was a one time thing, unfortunately it is not. She has had three since we first saw the emergency vet.

ETA-
We are getting her treated with the seizures right now, and the ear infection that she had. Also a steriod shot, which seems to be helping by leaps and bounds. THe vet got back with me today and her Phenobarb level is at 18, which is really good, and the side effects are seeming to lessen.

We are playing it by ear and seeing what else we need to do. Going back on 1/27 for an ear swab, and a reavaluation.

Please help me help my best friend.
