Our mom Larisa (known to many as Coach Larisa) was diagnosed with stage 2B left invasive ductal carcinoma cancer 1/20/26 (the day after her birthday) and fluid on her heart. Within a month on 2/26/26 she had a partial mastectomy and lymph nodes removed. She developed a severe infection within days of surgery that took weeks to start to clear up and within days of finishing multiple daily antibiotics she developed another infection. Needless to say it’s been a long exhausting road that has included multiple daily appointments that has resulted in weeks of missed work. The infections have also pushed back her radiation start date to the end of this month. She needs to do radiation first and then it will be decided if chemo also needs to be done. There is still a long road ahead. Unfortunately this has really started to strain our parents financially due to missing work. We greatly appreciate any help that can be given!
