Navy Vet Cancer Survivor

Hi, my name is Morgan and I am raising money for my dad, Dave Buckley. He has been out of work for since August of 2022. What started out as a painful infection around his ear that doctors couldn't cure, led to a stay at big Barnes in St. Louis where, what we called the Grey's Anatomy team, tried to figure out what was going on. My dad was a medical mystery. His wife, Linda, finally asked if they could add doing another biopsy in with the mirage of other tests. The results showed that it was in fact skin cancer that grew inwards instead of out and had taken over his whole ear and part of the skin surrounding his ear. My dad had to have his ear removed and 2 additional surgeries where his ear used to be. After the surgeries was sent to a hyperbaric chamber every day Monday-Friday for 6 weeks because he is a diabetic and they wanted to get him healed as fast as possible so that he could start radiation. Radiation was Monday-Friday for 6 weeks as well and kicked his butt. He was getting sick and just not feeling well. Since his radiation, and after being cancer free, he has still been getting sick when he bends over, due to this he cannot return back to work and does not have long term disability. He has been seen by multiple doctors but none have been able to figure out what is causing it. Last weekend my family went to the Lake of the Ozarks to have a relaxing time, my dad started feeling sick and when he stood up he got dizzy and fell causing him to breaking his fibula, fracture his tibia and dislocate his ankle. Adding another surgery to his tally, to add a metal plate and some screws.

Throughout all of this my dad has been trying to make jokes and stay as positive as possible. I know that not being able to work is hard on him mentally and financially. My dad is a hard worker and will give the shirt off his back. He served his country in the Navy and is very proud of that. When all of this started he would not allow me to create a fund, he didn't want the help and thought him and Linda could do it on their own. However, the doctors bills are pilling up and they have been a one income home for over a year. If you can donate it would be much appreciated as anything will help.
