In May of 2023, Todd Brown collapsed in the front yard of his family home in Magnolia, TX. After five days in the Cardiothoracic ICU, and an additional 3 days being monitored by his team of doctors he was diagnosed with the following: Enlarged right ventricle, Pulmonary hypertension, Pulmonary Embolism, CTEPH, ascending aortic aneurysm & bicuspid aortic valve. Because of this illness he has been unable to return to work and forced into disability retirement from the Department of Homeland Security (TSA).
Todd will be admitted back into the hospital on July 16th for extensive open heart surgery on July 17th. He will be in the hospital downtown for 5-10 days. Upon release from the hospital he will be homebound for a minimum of two months. His loving wife, Amy will have to take a leave of absence from work to take care of Todd, on top of all of the time off she has already taken to make sure her husband is well taken care of.
Todd faithfully served his Country for over thirty years in the US Navy, US Army and the Department of Homeland Security. During his time in the Navy he spent his entire career as an AO (Aviation Ordnanceman) & served as a Southwest Asia Combat Veteran during Operations Desert Storm and Shield. Exposure to hazardous chemicals and toxins have been linked back to the vast majority of his health issues. After 9/11 he enlisted in the Army Reserves as an 11Mike. He then did over 20 years as a K9 handler with Homeland Security. Todd and Amy are continually fighting with the VA for his benefits and disability, to which he rightfully deserves.
The goal of this Go-Fund Me is to help ease their financial burden at this time so they can focus on Todd's healing and recovery.
If you know Amy and Todd, you know they always show up, they always show support, and they are always there for anyone who ever needs them.
