David’s fundraiser

Hi. My name is David. I am a 38 year old father of one daughter. In may 2019 I was in a motorbike accident which left me with serious injuries. The most serious injury being a full nerve root avulsion of the brachial plexus of my left arm (which means it is completely separated from the spinal cord leaving my arm completely paralysed).

I am going for surgery in Vienna, Austria this coming October, as this surgery is not available in Ireland.This surgery will involve a muscle and nerve transfer to the affected arm which will help improve my quality of life by giving me sensory feeling on the forearm and help with chronic daily pain.

These surgeries will lead the way for much needed further surgeries in Ireland. These surgeries include lower arm amputation that will lead to a prosthetic and derotional osteotomy of the humerus bone on the affected arm.

I have set up this go fund me myself to fund travel, accommodation and any further costs that may incur.
